Engine No.2 'Pig'

Gauge 32 mm NG.

IP Engineering 'Jane' class 040 locomotive (standard upgrade, based on Mamod/MSS) 'side tank' type.

Fuel: liquid meths.

Currently out of service pending repairs. After a pro-longed period mothballed, test run conducted March 2015. Reversing valve found to need attention and repaired. Main steam feed pipe had come adrift from it's housing - repaired. Meths wick found to have burnt away. Fired up using candlewick. Steam leaks held and the locomotive moved. But the candlewick burnt away. New Meths wick sourced and will be fitted with a thorough clean and overhaul.

Engine No.3 'Legacy'

Gauge 32 mm NG.

Roundhouse Engineering 'Lady Anne' class 060 'side tank' locomotive.

Fuel: Butane gas (internal flue).

Currently out of service.

This engine has a built in radio control system to control direction of travel, gears and regulator.

During the last steamings significant difficulties (glitching) was observed with the radio control system causing sudden switching to the gears. This then caused a significant accident when the locomotive switched direction suddenly and the regulator jammed full open. Damage caused to the front buffer beam.

Mechanically, the locomotive is in excellent condition. Moth balled pending repairs or rebuild of the RC system.

No 4.

Tram.

Battery powered outline locomotive. Originally chassis was used to carry and outline diesel shunter body.

During my recovery from an operation, I rebuilt it as a tram to run on my initial ground level end-to-end line. However, after only one run, it was discovered that the worm drive had burred away.

Currently out of service.

UPDATE

Thorough overhaul of No.2 completed. New meths wicks installed. Steam feed pipe re-sited and tamped firnly into position. Ready for test steaming and run!
